DNS (Domain Name System) records control how your domain behaves and points to different services. JomeTech Africa allows you to configure common DNS records.

Common DNS Records:

  • A Record: Points your domain to an IP address.
  • CNAME Record: Maps a subdomain to another domain (e.g., www to your main domain).
  • MX Record: Directs emails to your mail server.
  • TXT Record: Verifies domain ownership and adds security features like SPF and DKIM.

How to Update DNS Records in cPanel:

  1. Log in to cPanel via your client portal.
  2. Navigate to the Zone Editor under the Domains section.
  3. Locate your domain and click Manage.
  4. Add, edit, or delete DNS records as needed:
    • For A records, enter the IP address of your hosting server.
    • For CNAME records, specify the domain you want to map to.
    • For MX records, enter the mail server details.
    • For TXT records, paste the verification or security code.
  5. Save your changes.
  6. Wait for DNS propagation, which can take up to 24 hours.
